Hi rugger,
The International Olympic Committee decided this morning to include Rugby, once again, in the 2016 Olympics. USA is the reigning Olympic champions from back in the 1920s when Rugby was last included in the Olympics. The next seven years will give us an opportunity to introduce this renewed Olympic sport to the youth of Illinois. Illinois youth players, currently playing the sport, will have matured as rugby players by 2016. If they are good enough rugby players they will then be able to compete for USA's Olympic rugby team. Welcome to the first newsletter of a new era in rugby and the programs and initiatives that we hope will produce at least one rugby player on the 2016 Olympic Rugby team.
