Hi there,
We've had a busy couple of months at PM Design, launching 5 brand new websites for local and international clients. One even took 2 years—you can't say we don't have patience!
Our recent business seminar on Social Media in Business went very well with over 40 attendees—there were some excellent questions and networking in the bar afterwards. If you missed it, don't worry. You can still see the presentation slides yourself and catch our next one in April/May.
You know that winter is approaching in BC when Father Christmas arrives in his London black cab—hope that carbon footprint is smaller than the sleigh, Santa. Our snow tyres are on and ready, the tree is up, house lights shining, and we are busy in our own "workshop" on some cool, new projects. Stay tuned.
Wherever you are in the world, please have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Bring on 2010 and the Winter Olympics! Talk to you in 2 months.
All the best,
The PM Design Team
The client has many unrelated hats so we had to show them all in one convenient place.
We used a cool (JQuery) accordion element on the Home page and gave it an "educational" look, as well as highlighting the other service.
Despite the name, these 2 guys are a professional window installation team, based locally on Vancouver Island.
We wanted to highlight their characters so used a sense of humour and made them seem approachable while maintaining the fact that they do a great job.
This site is part of a group of 7 websites based in 4 countries: USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
It forms the non-profit arm of the organization and was launched ahead of its sister sites in order to establish a consistent look and feel.
It connects to an eCommerce solution (1ShoppingCart) and another backed that allows people to not only purchase cards but top them up with more funds.
Believe it or not, this site took 2 years to finish! With the client being so busy, there were many delays but we went with the flow and launched something she was thrilled with and able to use right away.
With a full eCommerce solution (CubeCart), it has added a whole new dimension to her home-based business.
A lot of hard work but well worth it. Nice one, Laura!
This was an update on an old design and needed to be completed by the time the client went on a business trip to a Middle East conference.
We adapted a template to match the client and added updated content to be more in line with his services. This created a better layout and easier navigation to the key pages.
On Wednesday, December 2, we hosted a free business seminar in downtown Ladysmith for the business community hosted by the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association. It was a great success with over 40 attendees! Thank you to all who attended.

“Thank you for taking the time to explain and enlighten on the topic of social media. Your easy manner and obvious understanding of the topic made the evening fun and valuable. I now have a better understanding of the value of social media for Take 5 Publications.”

“Paul provided an excellent workshop on the topic of ‘Social Media in Business’. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to introduce their organization to the uses and pitfalls of social media in a business context.”

Watch out for our next one in April!
Everybody loves the drag and drop nature of Mac OS X. Drag an app into your applications folder, and it's installed. You'd think it would be that easy to delete an app, just a matter of dragging it to the trash. But it's not.
Applications install preferences, caches, and other support files throughout your computer that take up space and generate clutter. Deleting these by hand every time you delete an app is a pain.
We have used this tool so many times to uninstall an app and everything that comes with it—it has saved us GB of space! Only $12.95 but well worth it.
