Professional web design

Hi there,

After a summer hiatus, we are back with a packed edition for you! Hope you like it.

We haven't exactly been resting in our kayaks, recently launching 4 new sites including two local businesses, one Florida, and one Ohio. All in all, a productive period.

We recently completed our first 3D animation project (not exactly stimulating but cool nonetheless) and are busy working with our Town City Hall on tourism and a local transit project.

We are currently looking for a good PHP developer so please contact us if you have a solution.

Please help us out by becoming a "fan" of our Facebook Business Page—we are up to 25 but could do with a few more. And we now have 73 (ooooh) "followers" of our Twitter page.

Finally, I recently watched the sun rise with my 3 year old so I thought I'd share that moment with you. Moving on...

Feature: Transfer Beach Grill

With a small business, budget becomes a major factor when deciding to have a new website.

We delivered a site for this local client that not only fit into their budget but increased traffic to the website and in the restaurant. There is a nice slideshow on each page and a history of the Chef/Owner, something we felt would build up the owner's reputation and allow his customers to better understand his cooking influences. We also included an email newsletter, new logo and menu in the project.

The Owner is now so busy, he is expanding the business!

Launch: Tech One

Tech One required an update on their old site in order to highlight and rearrange their best services. The aviation industry is constantly changing so it was important that they provide what their customers need today.

Using a nice JQuery slideshow on the Home page and new sitewide drop-down navigation, we recreated their logo and applied it to a new template.

Launch: Hummingbird Manor

Small budget doesn't necessarily mean a limited website. We work with all budgets and clients.

This local business needed a nice-looking website for their newly-built assisted living space in our local town, something which would create a relaxed and welcoming experience and make their residents feel like they could live there in their twilight years.

Launch: Stark Education

This site took over a year to complete but was worth it.

The client is using Adobe Contribute to update the site and spent a lot of time uploading all the content in preparation for launch. Coupled with the usual heavy education workload, it took a lot of effort!

Blog: Email Address Branding

Many people set up a business email address through their Internet Service Provider rather than their domain name. This is a mistake.

Do you have any of the following types of email address for your business?

  • yourbusiness@shaw.ca
  • yourbusiness@att.net
  • yourbusiness@telus.com
  • yourbusiness@hotmail.com
  • yourbusiness@yahoo.com

If you answered, “Yes” to any of these, you have made a strategic error which can be corrected. Why promote the service provider when you should be promoting your business? Where is the address of your website, the key ingredient of your Internet cake? Why are you hiding the website’s address?

Convert Docx to Doc

Have you received a Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx) document and are unable to open it? We have and it's a pain.

In 2007 Microsoft introduced Office with a new file format that could not automatically be opened by previous versions of Microsoft Word. Now isn't that nice of them?

But you can resolve this by either asking your client to resave as “Word97-2003 Document (*.doc)” and resending it or do it yourself online:

 Hope that helps.
