Hi there, Welcome to the latest edition of Words from Weinberger. During spring cleaning, we came across the first edition of Words from Weinberger, released in April 1991. The stated purpose of that newsletter was to provide our clients and business partners with information regarding the current state of technology and how it affects our businesses. Seventeen years later, the goal is the same. As business owners and managers we are all challenged to provide our customers with quality products and services and at the same time recruit and maintain our employees. We must take advantage of the best tools to be as productive as we possibly can. In this edition we discuss the use of some of the new technologies from Microsoft and how they can have a real impact on your business. With version 10 of Microsoft Dynamics GP and the recently released Feature Pack, we have some exciting new capabilities, bringing the vision of a totally integrated Microsoft Office suite and Dynamics GP much closer to reality. Please visit our recently redesigned website. We welcome your comments and insights. I hope you enjoy our newsletter, What is Business Intelligence?

Some examples: Summary Financial Statements for the Board of Directors, Customer account details and communications to a Collection Manager, Current Inventory position, including commitments and Purchase Orders to the Purchasing Manager. Microsoft has provided us with powerful tools to assist in this arena. Excel is often the tool of choice where complex calculations, cross tab reporting, and/or charts are required. It is also great for building dashboards for a quick look at key indicators in your operations. Excel can now use live information from Microsoft Dynamics GP. Further, using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server you can provide an authoritative version of a worksheet to be shared within your organization. There is much more to this topic and I will be following up in future issues of this newsletter. In the meantime, please contact us to discuss your requirements. Microsoft Dynamics GP Version 10 Feature Pack is AvailableThese new capabilities are delivered without additional cost to all current Dynamics GP customers. Some of my favorite enhancements in this release are:
