Hi there,
We know it's been a while since we last spoke but things have tended to get away from us and we let this one slip by a month. Will you forgive us?
With a few website launches and makeovers, we've been pretty busy. From Pilates to Indian food, Manila clam farming to local tourism, Vancouver finance to Chamber of Commerce, there's something for every business.
We were just at WordCamp Victoria 2010, which was excellent, and in late June, we are planning our 2nd seminar, this time on the wild and crazy world of Google and the search engines.
We know we've mentioned it before but the Market 2 All website should be launched in a couple of weeks so you can see our excellent email marketing system.
Lastly, we are hoping to launch our first ExpressionEngine site, which is a way to update a website without knowing a single line of code. We'll keep you in the loop.
With the weather getting warmer, I took my 4 year old out for a kayak at the weekend for Paddlefest, which she loved. It was great teaching her how to paddle and experience being on the ocean, so close to seals, herons and other animals.
Hey, someone has to do it!
See you on the water,
The PM Design Team
It can sometimes be a marketing struggle in a small town, especially when people are used to doing things a certain way.
Body Resource Studio faced several challenges including how to best market Pilates to a population that might not realize the potential of this form of exercise and how to use more affordable and effective methods of advertising.
We want to be clear on this: we did not design this website. It was designed and built by an outside party.
However, it wasn't built very well and was performing poorly in the search engines so we were brought in to clean the navigation up, add new content and pages, tools such as an e-postcard, make it more keyword-rich, and make it easier to update.
The goal of the site is to attract more tourists to this beautiful area of Vancouver Island. We've already seen a 68% increase in search engine traffic since January, which we hope translates to more tourist dollars to the town and local businesses, just in time for summer!
Well, we finally launched the rest of the pages so instead of a single Home page, they now have several to inform their clientele.
Let's face it, who doesn't like Indian food? This one was a special treat to launch!
The car journey down from Ladysmith with a fellow “WordPresser” to WordCamp Victoria 2010 generated some exciting conversation as this was both our first WordCamp and we didn’t know what to expect. Connie is a local artist, web designer and WordPress enthusiast who was great company all day, especially as co-pilot on the mad dash home to return the rental car in time!

Kudos : James Eaton Design, Dave Bedingfield
Thought we'd send kudos to two of our talented colleagues/peers—James Eaton Design
in Chicago and Dave Bedingfield in LA—who recently won a Webby Award for their awesome Frank Lloyd Wright tour website.
Check out the virtual tour! I've done that tour and it's breathtaking to see Lloyd Wright's architecture and home design during the early 20th century. A fascinating story and a fascinating man.
